The scriptures say that our former unconverted self must die, be crucified with Jesus. Romans 6:6 New converts are called “babes” in scripture. 1 Corinthians 3:1 1 Corinthians 14:20 1 Peter 2:2 All “babes in Christ” must mature spiritually and part of this process is ending the way we previously thought, our thinking must be spiritual, not carnal. After all Jesus told us it is our thoughts that are sin and this evil thinking must die and be replaced with thoughts of GODS love which is the fulfillment of the law. Romans 13:10 Mark 7:20-23 Hebrews 4:12 Romans 8:6 The Holy Spirit in the babe will make this process Possible along with fellowship with other mature elect saints. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 Titus 2:1-8
The mature shares with the babe spiritual wisdom that then the spirit in the babe will understand thus being taught by the same spirit as the mature were. This is iron sharpening iron, it is drinking of the same spirit . 1 Corinthians 12:13
